Mons Pubis Reduction

The term “mons pubis” refers to the fatty tissue that is located over pubic bone of an adult woman. The size of the mons pubis usually varies based on the woman’s hormonal level and the amount of body fat present. The mons pubis is an important part of female anatomy, as it provides protection to the pubic bone, particularly during intercourse. Thus, the size and shape of this region can be of great aesthetic and physical importance to women. Unfortunately, many women have an enlarged or saggy mons pubis due to abnormal hormonal or fat levels, and thus feel a sense of personal discomfort with their appearance. When a woman is unhappy with the appearance of her mons pubis, she may consider a cosmetic procedure to enhance its appearance. After the surgery, patients report increased comfort wearing tighter clothing and enjoy intimacy with their partner.

Dr. Mark P. Solomon is a highly experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed mons pubis reduction on hundreds of women. A mons pubis reduction procedure is typically done via liposuction. Liposuction is used to remove excess fat that has been deposited in the region. In certain cases, a small surgical incision may be made to remove excess fat and skin that cannot be removed using liposuction alone. The liposuction procedure requires that two very small holes be made in the skin in a cosmetically concealed position. These incisions will be used to insert the instrument and extract the fatty tissues from the mons pubis region. It is a safe process that does not involve any damage to the surrounding sensory nerves. Before the procedure, patients meet with Dr. Solomon to review their medical history and cosmetic goals, so that he can ensure a successful procedure. He will explain how the process works and answer any questions that you may have.

Patients report high satisfaction with mons pubis surgery. They tell us that they are more confident and less inhibited.
