As a board certified plastic surgeon, I’ve been performing penis enlargement surgery for more than 25 years. That makes me one of the most experienced surgeons in the world with these procedures. I have learned a lot about male cosmetic surgery, specifically surgery of the penis, and in this series of videos, I’m going to share some of those things with you.
First, penis enlargement surgery comprises multiple topics. Most people think it’s about making the penis longer, thicker or both. But there are many factors that affect the size and appearance of the penis that we’ll discuss in this series. Among the most important concepts is “what is a normal penis?”
The majority of men who seek my opinion are unhappy with their appearance. In that regard, surgery for the penis is no different than surgery for the nose or breasts. In each of those cases, most patients have normal anatomy that they want to improve and penis enlargement surgery is no different. However, just like nasal surgery or breast surgery, the physician caring for the patient has to analyze each patient individually to determine what are the areas of concern for that patient. Remember…normal is a range, not a specific number.
Some men have a long, thin penis while others have a short, wide penis. Penises at either end of this spectrum will function, as will penises anywhere in between. Each of these men is able to have sex. However, they may feel self conscious about their appearance which may create a sense of inhibition that affects their penile function. It is important to realize, that if you are able to have sex before surgery, you will be able to have sex afterword. Conversely, if you have erectile dysfunction, none of these procedures will change that. These procedures are not designed to alter the function of your penis, only its appearance.
When discussing penis size, you should be aware that there are differences in size among various geographical and ethnic groups of men. Some may be larger than others. But regardless of size, each man in each of these groups is able to have sex. Research has shown that even men with generally smaller penises are able to reproduce, as evidenced by the fact that no group suffers from infertility due the size of the penis.
Another common misconception is that the average erect penis is 6 inches or approximately 1 centimeters. That’s not true. In my evaluation of the literature regarding penile size, the average erect penis is 5.75 inches or
14.6 centimeters. Of course, average is just that. Some men are naturally larger while others are smaller.
Just because you have surgery to get a larger penis does not mean you will be having more sex. The ability to have sex with another person is much more about who you are as a person than the size of your penis.
In each of the following blogs, we’ll focus on a specific topic related to penis enlargement surgery, including penis length surgery, penis girth surgery, testicle enlargement, scrotal issues, buried penis, fillers, fat grafts, implants and treatment of complications of these procedures.

Category: reviewsHello! Ok, let me start by saying that Dr. Solomon is THE BEST. The reason I stand behind 5 stars is simple. I received a breast Augmentation 17 years ago and everything went beyond well. Not only did my breast look fabulous they still look fabulous after 17 years. I just left his offices for my 2nd check up in the past 17 years and they look and feel like they did when they were new. Not only did the check up cost ZERO dollars the but the cander and expertise are priceless. Look no further. Dr. Solomon is extremely honest and won't do anything that won't be perfect. Thanks DOC you Rock!
